Ok, I’m trying to “hook” you with a catchy title here, but I’m hooked on books myself, reading, writing and publishing books that say something meaningful and make you think.

‘Tis the season to give, and maybe this is the perfect season to Give a Book, since we’re all spending more time inside and probably need a bit more brightness in dark times (maybe not staring at a screen?).  

You may or may not know that I’ve written about a dozen books.  My latest ones are collections of my weekly columns published in the Asheville Citizen-Times.  I’ve written one column a week for Four Years which feels like an accomplishment, though I’ve never been paid a penny for the work (teaching, blogging and celebrating weddings is great too, but those hardly cover costs).

Allow me to invite you to Buy a Book and Give a Book this season, no matter what you celebrate or believe.  Might I suggest one or two of my books?

Ok … there … I suggested.  For instance,  just today I heard this from a reader:

 “I love Broken Bridges! It seems very relevant for this time in our history!”
