I swear I can’t step outside the door without spying some critter I’ve never seen and have no idea what it is.
Saw this on a sycamore leaf this morning, just after observing a fat groundhog waddle by and two tawny deer lumber along. At least I knew what they were.

I think what you have there is an Assassin bug nymph. Apparently the nymphs look very different from the adults. Careful, they can bite.

Yes, thanks for that tip. I did learn yesterday it is indeed another species of the assassin bugs we see here frequently. A beautiful killer!
