Christian Nationalism (McCall, 2023)

The Christian Nation Myth: A Present Danger to Secular Democracy

McCall (Montreat College Center for Adult Lifelong Learning)
Fall 2023 (Six Tuesdays, 9:30-11:30, Sept 12-Oct 17)

Course Description

Christian Nationalism has emerged as a major threat to true religious freedom. Based on the myth America’s founders were evangelical Christians, this political movement seeks to reshape our pluralistic society in the image of a narrow, sectarian worldview. This class will reveal some of the major voices in Christian Nationalism, expose their power-seeking agenda, and introduce organizations challenging this current theocratic threat. Students of all faiths and no faith are welcome in a respectful classroom environment.
