Stoicism for Today

Fall 2025

Oct-Nov, 4 sessions (2-4pm)

Course Description

How do I live a good life?  How can I be happy?  How should I treat others?  How can I face suffering and death?  The ancient philosophy of Stoicism offers practical guidance for addressing these questions and more.  No matter what our personal beliefs may be, the Stoic emphasis on reason, Nature and tranquility can help us face the greatest challenges in a rational and compassionate manner.  This course will present Stoicism in an accessible, understandable way through the lives and lessons of Epictetus, Seneca and Marcus Aurelius.
